Have you ever heard that “beauty is only skin deep” and “it’s what inside that counts”? Have you ever doubted those statements? Research has consistently found that many articles and ads in magazines read by young women support, and even encourage, the notion that female success and happiness are tied to their physical appearance. The problem is that if they don’t like the way that they look then they are setting themselves up for some pretty unhappy times. IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY!

The Be True, GIRL mini-workshop is about opening the eyes of teen girls as to what really goes on in the media. The course is designed to help them discover who they really are and what makes them unique and special. The Be True, GIRL mini-workshop is a workshop to help girls uncover their inner power and create a life they totally love! The objective of Be True, GIRL is to start girls on the road of self-discovery so that they can begin to define themselves on their own terms. The Be True, GIRL mini-workshop is high-energy, interactive and multi-media so you can expect the girls to be fully engaged.

This 1-hour workshop includes:

• Interactive exercises to highlight and celebrate individual uniqueness.
• Thought-provoking discussions about society’s treatment of women.
• A high-energy experience using popular magazines.
• A shocking video that reveals the secrets behind picture-perfect magazine ads.
• A guided self-appreciation exercise.

By the end of this program you can expect the girls to be more excited about who they are. They will begin to ask questions and challenge stereotypes. They will have more self-confidence and be able to cope with some of the many pressures that they face.
